Filming

Hello, Hello, Hello!

     Getting everything together was incredibly stressful. I had rehearsals and when we made time for filming my group members would suddenly have different plans. Well had enough of that and went out filming on my own since all of the actors were available. I will admit that getting all the equipment to the room and setting everything up was a challenge. The fact that one of the lights burnt out on me didn't help either. None the less, I still managed to get some filming done. Seeing as nothing went according to plan and I still managed on my own - I'd say I deserve a sticker!.......maybe two...

     Decisions, decisions, decisions. How could one, or three even, ever possibly choose only ONE music video out of thousands to replicate. Well good thing is that we were given a small biggie list of 5 to choose from. Which is nice seeing as we still were damsels in distress, even 'Woe is me, how do I ever pick just one?'. All of that lasted about.......5 minutes before deciding to roll with Ida Maria's "Oh my God" and just be done with it.

     Had to send an email to remind the people who wanted to be in the video. Needed to double check if they were still available.

     Since we are replicating Ida Maria's "Oh My God!" video, we only needed one location and one location only. Needing only the music equipment we decided on one of the bigger music rooms.

Location: One of the music practice rooms!

Issues?

• Not enough room because of the tables and chairs
• Double booking
• Instruments not being in the room

Overcoming!

• Come to the room early to make sure that there is enough space. If not, moving the desks and chairs out of the way
• Booking the room as early as possible
• Checking that the instruments are there ad free. If possible - booking the instruments as well.

     Well well, as soon as my group entered panic mode about actually replicating the video, a few volunteers stepped up to be in it. So the actor issue was instantly sorted out. Now for the items that we needed to gather for everything to work:

-Lighting

-Tripod

-Camera

-Microphone

-Microphone stand

-Drums

-Guitar

-Bass guitar

-Amplifier

-A room to fill everything in

Preliminary task! Music video!

     Well well welly well well. The preliminary task awaits! Today I found out that for the task I will have to produce a replica of a music video in a group. Sounds like loads of fun sprinkled with a dash of hard work! I got pun in a group with Ellie and Tamara. Sounds like a great team. Now it's time to get my bearings, shackle my nerves and crack on to it!

Skills Audit!

Hello Hello Hello!

     So today we received this nifty little check-list. This beautiful page of squares included various skills used in making music videos. I must say, a lot of empty boxes. Boxes that needed filling out. I had to tick my ticky tock away on the boxes corresponding to whether I do have the skill of the box or if I am yet to learn the skill. I have to learn uite a lot still, btu this is what this course is all about.

I'm sure this all sounds quite confusing therefore I took a picture of the list so it would be much more clear what it was all bout.

Introduction

Hello, Hello, Hello!

Welcome to My Blog!

Let me introduce myself!

     Well then, first things first! My name is Greta and I am currently a year 13 student. Last year of Sixth Form, no room for mistakes, have to make everything perfect because it's going to last for the rest of my LIFE! So you know, no pressure at all. Besides media I also study art and drama, which I guess makes me into a very artsy person. This also means that the amount of coursework is off the charts and the Ghost of Work and Deadlines is my greatest fear.

     Now then, since that's out of the way, let's get to the serious things, i.e. the reason for the blog and so on. Well the reason should be quite obvious, everyone has to make a blog as a part of the curriculum, duh! Well my opinion on that is that in this modern day it's a great aid for the students to have a blog for their wok instead of just handing it in to the teachers whenever. By having a blog I will be able to learn and improve my blogging, networking and even design skills. My goal for the life of this blog would be to track and note down my progress on the task in a casual and personal setting. Producing a music video will be a long progress so hopefully because of that this blog will not lack in content. I also hope  that the progress recoded here will be easy to follow and clear!
